African art in Moscow

Stephane Konan Galleries is a space for African art in the very heart of Moscow. Our aim is to introduce audiences to the richness and diversity of the African art scene, which spans more than 50 countries of the continent and its diaspora worldwide.

In contemporary African art, tradition, present-day context and individual voices are closely interwoven. We work with traditional art and established masters as well as with promising young artists.

The gallery brings together exhibitions, art sales and educational projects. We want to fill the gap in what is known in Russia about the art and culture of African countries. Our exhibitions are accompanied by guided tours, lectures and film screenings.

We also produce the podcast Soul of Africa, in which artists, curators, experts and collectors reflect on contemporary African art, and we run a Telegram channel of the same name.

Today, as cooperation between Russia and African countries reaches a new level, it is particularly important to bring African art into the Russian cultural landscape. The gallery's programme is overseen by an expert council.
